Samsung Dex Turns Your Smartphone Into A Desktop PC (0)

People nowadays prefer using their smartphones over desktop PC's. Smartphones today can be just as powerful and sometimes even better than some PC's today. It is even more convenient to use when going online, checking social networks and most of the common reasons why people go online. But there are also times when people prefer using PC's, specifically because of the bigger display of monitors. It certainly will make it convenient if smartphone users can view apps and other content from a larger monitor of a desktop computer. This is now made possible through the new Samsung Dex. The Samsung Dex is a special dock that works to transform your Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone into a functional desktop computer. The dock can connect to a keyboard, monitor and mouse. Once your smartphone is docked, you will be able to view the contents of your phone on the PC monitor connected to the Samsung Dex. You can even access your files as well as app through the dock, giving you the option to use your smartphone as a functional PC. The Samsung Dex also has an HDMI port for video, a USB-C for power, two USB 2.0 ports for peripherals or flash drives and an ethernet for a stable internet connection. The Samsung Dex is ideal for Samsung Galaxy S8smartphone users, for which the dock has been designed for. It is expected to cost around $150. While it is quite an ambitious plan, the Samsung Dex is good enough in transforming the Samsung S8 into a functional desktop. But certain improvements need to be made since it is still far from perfect. It works well with native Samsung app but may need to check on certain issues with non-native, or  3rd party  apps. Samsung Galaxy S6 Revealed (0)

The competition to make the next popular smartphone is always vicious. While most cannot seem to get quite close to the popularity that the iPhone enjoys, the competition always makes the market quite interesting. It can also make the manufacturers become more innovative. But at the same time, imitation also becomes rampant. At least that may be what others may think for the newly revealed Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone. Samsung has recently revealed the new Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone to the public. Design wise, some people may notice some similarities with the new iPhone models. Just like the iPhone, the new Samsung Galaxy S6 is also sandwiched by glass panes front and back. The curved aluminum frame may also be indicative of what the iPhone has. And interestingly, the new Samsung Galaxy S6 no longer has a replaceable battery as well as a slot for an expandable memory card. But that is where the similarities stop. When it comes to features, the new Samsung Galaxy S6 may be considered as one of the high-end devices out there. It comes with a Samsung's in-house Exynos 1.2 GHz octa-core processor that may be comparable to that of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chip found in many high-end smartphones today. The new Samsung Galaxy S6 also comes with a 3GB RAM and a 16MP rear camera with a 5MP front camera for clearer selfies. Its 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display is fitting form VR applications especially that the smartphone comes with an optional Samsung Gear VR headset for those who love to give virtual reality a try. The Samsung Galaxy S6 comes with a built-in 2,550 mAh battery that also supports Qi and PMA standards of wireless charging. Some people might be taken aback by Samsung's decision to veer away from making it a removable battery. But the company may have some good reason for it. But it may just turn away some people from buying one especially with the lack of an expandable memory slot to this new smartphone. Samsung is geared to make the Galaxy S6 available sometime in April in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB models. Unfortunately, the company has not yet provided the pricing details. You might just have to wait for its partner carriers to do that later on. Image Source: Samsung Read More
