LG has proudly announced that it has sold 10 million 4G LTE smartphones, two years since LG began offering LTE-compliant phones. This milestone comes after the South Korean electronics company reached the 5 million mark in August 2012.

“Aggressive pushing forward with 4G LTE technology allows LG satisfy the needs of consumers and is a huge factor in our growing success in global LTE smartphone sales,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG’s mobile division. “Having established ourselves as a major industry player, we will continue to expand our footprint in the global LTE market with a wider range of differentiated, high quality LTE smartphones.”

While it took quite a lot of time for LG to achieve the 10 million figure, the news comes just as LG is set to distribute its latest flagship smartphone, the Optimus G, to 50 more countries. The company is also gearing to offer its budget-friendly 4G smartphones, namely Optimus F7 and F5, which are due later this year.
