Wacom Cintiq 24HD Touch Unveiled

Wacom has announced an updated version of its Cintiq 24HD professional pen tablet. The Wacom Cintiq 24HD Touch offers multi-touch functionality and an improved display that shows 1.07 billion colors with 97% of Adobe’s RGB gamut and improved on-screen color rendition.

The multi-touch capability replicates how artists work with two hands when using traditional materials like paints, markets, and clay, all while harnessing the functions of today’s creative software applications. “The ability to manipulate a 3D model or pan, zoom, and rotate an image with one hand while simultaneously sculpting or sketching with the other delivers a completely natural experience enabling artists to stay completely in their creative zone,” says Don Varga, brand director for Wacom’s professional products.

Like its non-touch offering, the Cintiq 24HD Touch features Express Keys and Touch Rings so users can customize their workflow for maximum efficiency. It also has a fully-adjustable, counter-weighted stand for maximum comfort, whether the display is placed over the edge of a desk or placed to an easel-like position.

The Wacom Cintiq 24HD Touch is expected to work compatibly with Windows 8, even without installing new drivers. It is due to arrive in retail shelves this August for a hefty $3,699.
