Apple Sells iPads to China Starting July 20

Now that its legal battle with Proview Electronics over the ownership of the “iPad ” trademark in China ended in a $60 million settlement, Apple has announced that it will be selling the new iPad on Mainland China beginning July 20th.

The price range is similar to the US rates: starting at $499 for the 16GB model, $599 for the 32GB device, and $699 for the 64GB version. You can shell out an extra $130 to include cellular access on your device. It may sound inexpensive, but with China’s per-capita income is lower, those prices will feel a bit higher on the average consumer.

And with the new iPad, Apple has slashed the prices of the older iPad 2 for just $399, just like what happened in the US before the new version of the iPad is unveiled.

The new iPad will be sold through authorized resellers and Apple’s brick-and-mortar retail stores, with reservations for pick up beginning on July 19.
