With data becoming more and more valuable nowadays, people also seem to get more and more sensitive about their personal data, especially the ones stored on their computer hard drive. For whatever reason, there are some people who want their personal data for their eyes only and for theirs alone. For such people who do not want people to interfere or discover what their hard drive contains, this new RunCore InVincible SSD might prove to be of great importance.

The RunCore InVincible SSD is just like any new SSD’s out there. It features low power consumption and faster reading and writing speed at 240 Mbps and 140 Mbps, respectively. It can also endure higher temperatures and still function normally. But what would probably be of interest for some people to get this SSD is because of the red and green self-destruct buttons that it comes with.

The RunCore InVincible SSD comes with two ways to get rid of the data it contains before anyone can get to it. Pressing the green button activates the intelligent data erasure mode of the drive, overwriting the disk with random code to render the data useless and unrecoverable. For more serious data destruction needs, users can press the red button where physical destruction mode is activated. A strong current is sent to the drives NAND flash memory, totally destroying the drive itself and preventing others from ever getting to your sensitive personal data, in whatever form it may be. The new RunCore Invincible has just been recently unveiled and is not yet available in the market. If it does, expect it to cost a bit more than current SSD’s by virtue of the extra protection that it comes with.
