Remember when we said that the blonde kid at the end of Rovio’s video celebrating one billion Angry Birds downloads may have to do with “more amazing things” the company has in store? Apparently, he is the lead character of Rovio’s upcoming game!

A Rovio executive has confirmed that it has acquired the rights to the game Casey’s Contraptions from developers Snappy Touch and Mystery Coconut. Just like Angry Birds, the game play on Casey’s Contraptions relies on physics.

The original game, which has since been removed from the App Store, allows the player to place an assortment of items within the confines of the room and create a some sort of Rube Goldberg machine. Check out the trailer to give you an idea. According to Rovio’s VP of franchise development Ville Heijari, they are reworking the game to “enhance” it, probably by adding new content and a revamp on the graphics.

Rovio plans to roll out the new version of Casey’s Contraptions to iOS and Android “this summer” before expanding to other platforms.
