IKEA Cardboard Digital Camera

Posted on April 25, 2012

People usually have a set idea of what some devices look like. When some manufacturer veers away somewhat from a certain design for a device, there would always be a mix of people who either like it or would hate it. The same mix of people would certainly be present when the IKEA Cardboard Digital Camera ever comes out in the market.

The IKEA Cardboard Digital Camera was first seen and introduced in a recent Salone design show in Milan, Italy. Its design is typical of an IKEA brand- simple and yet unique in some ways. It is a simple digital camera that is made up mostly of cardboard. According to sources, this unique camera runs on 2AA batteries, has a built-in memory that can hold up to 40 images which can then be transferred to a computer via USB.

This IKEA digital camera can be reusable if only but for a limited time due to its cardboard body. The usual LCD display in most digital cameras is also absent in place of a viewfinder typical of old camera models. By the looks of it, there will be people who will certainly hate it and there will be some who will appreciate its unique take on digital cameras. Expect this IKEA Cardboard Digital Camera to hit IKEA stores in the future. But no word has been sent out yet on how much it would cost.
