MacGuffin’s Curse iPhone Game Review

Puzzle games usually lack story telling and those that do turn out to become fan favorites. Developed by Australia-based Brawsome, MacGuffin’s Curse is poised to become one of them. Lucas MacGuffin is a magician turned thief who bungles a museum robbery and finds himself bound to a cursed amulet that gives him the ability to transform between man and Werewolf. With this new power, Lucas must sneak and smash his way through a series of puzzles, bring down a criminal mastermind, and convince his daughter that it is not funny to stuff the fridge with dog food.

The game is filled with content. Almost everything in the game world has a story waiting to be unveiled. Players can command Lucas to inspect items, which often yield humorous references to gaming and pop culture. There are also hidden comic strips that tell us more about Lucas’ past. MacGuffin’s Curse also provides a fresh art style and ear-catching soundtrack.

If there is anything bad about this game, that would be its birds-eye perspective. Seeing the game from above may not appeal to everybody.

Overall, MacGuffin’s Curse is a near perfect experience for players of all ages. It is available in almost any platform, but we recommend the iPhone version which is currently priced at $1.99–a 60% discount off its regular price of $4.99.
