While the standardization of NFC mobile payment system remains murky, Barclays offers a very simple alternative. The PayTag is a sticker of sorts that works as an extension to your credit card. Simply stick PayTag on the back of your smartphone and you can now wave it on NFC readers for a contactless purchase, as long as it costs up to £15 (£20 beginning June). No need to open your wallet or reach into your pockets. This also eliminates the need of owning a NFC-compatible smartphone, especially if you are already attached to your non-NFC phones like BlackBerry or the iPhone.

The PayTag stickies will be available exclusively to Barclycard customers in the United Kingdom for free over the next few months.
