Rumor: Cheaper Nokia Lumia to be Unveiled

Posted on February 23, 2012

When the Nokia Lumia 800 was first introduced, a lot of people liked it but not a lot of them bought it. Apart from its problematic battery life, a smartphone that is neither an iPhone nor Android proves to be a hard sell.

But that may change in the coming days. Word is that the Finnish phone maker is set to unveil two new Lumias at the upcoming Mobile World Congress next week. One is a so-called global version of the Lumia 900 (pictured), while the other is an entry-level Lumia 610.

It seems that Nokia has realized that since its cheap phones remain popular in the market, might as well come up with an advance smartphone at a price set for the proletariat.
