If you are one of many who “likes” or “checks in” on Facebook everywhere you go? Bringing out your phone every now and then can be a hassle, so why not express your Facebook self with a few pelvic thrusts?

The LikeBelt is a concept device by DeepLocal that utilizes Near Field Communication (NFC). It connects with various NFC contact points, whether it is pasted on a store’s wall or worn by other people (such as those with their own LikeBelts), and automatically updates your Facebook if the belt’s buckle is close enough. The catch is that LikeBelt’s definition of “close” is about two inches, so you you would have to thrust your hips toward the contact point to make it work.

So far, NFC contact points are used mostly for Google Wallet transactions, which requires an NFC-capable Android smartphone. Makers of LikeBelt claim that its crazy concept would really work once NFC becomes available to iOS.

Still wondering how the LikeBelt works? We highly recommend watching this video. (Don’t get us started with the jokes that may come from it.)
