While there are people who like their smartphones sleek and slim, there are also others who want their smartphones tough. People need smartphones that can withstand more of the elements than any traditional smartphone. You can always count on Casio to dream up such a device in its proposed G-Shock smartphone.

The Casio G-Shock Smartphone was first seen at CES 2012. The display was considered just a proof of concept on how this touch Casio smartphone would eventually look like. Its proposed features are not something to laugh at when it comes to toughness.

This Casio G-Shock Smartphone will be tough enough to withstand the shock caused when dropped at a height of 10 feet. It is also able to resist water pressure of up to 1 bar, equivalent to around 10 meters underwater. It is also able to resist up to 1 ton of pressure. Now that is an extraordinarily tough smartphone for you.

For those interested in having this tough smartphone, they might need to be more patient for now. Currently, Casio is still contemplating on whether to proceed with the mass production of this tough smartphone. It is does, Casio may be looking at the US market as its primary target. Unfortunately, no pricing details have been provided, but everyone is free to guess.
