LightPad Folio Device For Smartphones

Posted on December 22, 2011

While smartphones are quite convenient to use for most people, they also have certain limits. For example, a smartphone’s screen size is something that might limit one’s viewing area while its small keypad usually limits at how fast a user can type from it. Apart from buying a separate device like a notebook or even a tablet, QP Optoelectronics offers a unique option in the LightPad.

The LightPad is a folio-like device that can help add features to your smartphone by offering a larger screen as well as an available keyboard. Users can attach their smartphone on a LightPad and then get an 11 inch projection screen where they can view what is being displayed on the smartphone. This is made possible by a built-in pico projector in the LightPad that can also be flipped to project the smartphone’s image into any flat surface for up to 60 inches. It also comes with a keyboard to allow people having a hard time texting to use it while connected to their smartphone. The LightPad is being eyed to be introduced at CES 2012 sometime in January. But there is no word yet on its pricing or when it will be available in the market.
