iControl Ferrari

Posted on December 15, 2011

Apple iDevices are so popular that they are now being used for things now other than what they were designed for. There are quite a number of such devices that just adds into the appeal of having an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch around. There’s the iControl Ferrari for example that makes that iDevice a part of an RC toy.

The iControl Ferrari is a remote controlled replica of a Ferrari sportscar. But what makes it unique is that an iPhone, iPod Touch or an iPad can be used to control it. A free app needs to be uploaded into the iDevice to control the car. On an iPhone, the app will start rumbling like a Ferrari engine. It also comes with a set of controls responsive to the touch. When a dongle transmitter is attached to the iDevice, it can be used to control driving the car where one wants it to go. It is quite a simple toy but may be quite engaging since it incorporates the use of an Apple iDevice to play with it. The iControl Ferrari is currently available for pre-order at Firebox for 30 UK Pounds or US$47.
