Devices today seem to go the portable route. They become slimmer, thinner and smaller as the newer ones come along. Computers seem to follow suit as they have become smaller and more portable if tablets and notebooks are to be considered. But it seems that having a pocket CPU is something that may still be afar off. But that’s not entirely true. FXI Technologies of Norway is coming out with a Flash Drive sized CPU in the FXI Cotton Candy device.

The flash drive sized FXI Cotton Candy is quite interesting is that it is not just a CPU with the simplest specs at all. It comes with a 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor as well as a Quad Core ARM GPU. It also has a 1GB DRAM and up to 64GB microSD storage. It runs on Android and Ubuntu as well as virtualization client for Windows, Linux and Mac.

The FXI Cotton Candy also comes with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. It also comes with a USB 2.0 for connecting to devices with USB support and an HDMI 2.1 for those that don’t. It can be used as a cloud client and can be used for laptops and TV’s with HDMI ports. The FXI Cotton Candy is expecting to be available in the second half of next year. It is expected to cost around US$200.
