Every now and then there are devices that come to our attention that really has that unique and somewhat captivating feature. It is not always the most complicated of devices that gets such attention. Sometimes, a simple everyday device given a unique and distinct feature can have the same effect. One such example is the unique Bright Blind, the window blind that lights up.

While most window blinds are typically used to keep the light out or provide some level of privacy in a room, the Bright Blind tries to provide some lighting instead. Designed by Makoto Hirahara, the Bright Blind is made with electroluminescent (EL) sheets. Brightness can be adjusted with each turn of the blind’s plastic stick.

The Bright Blind can be used to simulate a window in a room where there is none, providing some much needed lighting to any windowless room in the house. The Bright Blind is available at Generate although its price is not yet listed. It may just be another way to say that this faux window blind may come at a steep price. But then again, its unique feature may just be worth it for some people.
