Garmin Fit App

Posted on October 26, 2011

While TomTom is restructuring its business to keep itself afloat, fellow GPS device maker Garmin would rather focus on other things like coming up with a fitness app. The Garmin Fit app tracks your speed, pace, distance, time, and calories burned. Connect the app with Garmin’s ANT+ accessories and it can even track your heart rate and cadence. The app also lays out your workout and uploads it directly to Garmin Connect.

The Garmin Fit app keeps on working even if your smartphone receives a call or writes a text message. A single tap shows all the basic meters, including time, distance, pace, and calories. You can even control the music that you play from within the app. Once you are done with your workout, the app would let you write notes on the experience, which are then sent to Garmin Connect, which tracks your overall performance and improvements over a 30-day span.

The Garmin Fit is available for download for only $0.99. It runs both on Apple and Android.
