Samsung Wants iPhone 4S Banned in Japan, Australia

The war between Apple and Samsung does not seem to cease even after Steve Job’s death as Wall Street Journal reports that the Korean chaebol has filed for preliminary injunctions in Japan and Australia. Samsung hopes that the Tokyo District Court and the New South Wales Registry would decide in their favor to block the sales of the iPhone 4S, which was launched in both countries last weekend.

The article also states that Samsung is even aiming to halt the sales of the iPhone 4 and iPad 2 in Japan, claiming that Apple infringes on its technology patents. Samsung, which has previously announced that it will be more aggressive towards Apple, has also made similar legal moves in Italy and France.

Japan and Australia has been the centers of the Apple-Samsung legal battle for months. Apple sued Samsung in Japan last month over patent infringement claims of its iPhone and iPad. Meanwhile, Samsung pulled a publicity stunt in Australia as people were camping out for the iPhone 4S release by selling its Galaxy S II smartphone for just A$2 for a limited period.
