Nintendo Unveils Sega-Themed Wii Bundle

When it came to video games back in the day, kids were either playing with a Nintendo or a Sega. While the Nintendo Kids were struggling to play the Super Mario Bros 3 without using warps, the Sega Kids were trying to beat the Casino Zone times in Sonic 2. The console competition between the two continued on until Sega decided to ditch the console business after the unsuccessful launch of the critically-acclaimed Dreamcast and instead focused on developing software.

Sonic games have appeared on Nintendo systems, most prominently the Mario & Sonic at the Olympics series. In celebration of the upcoming Olympics, Nintendo unveils a special bundle featuring a Sonic-blue Wii and the Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The Wii is of the new variety, which does not have WiFi connectivity and unable to play Gamecube games. The bundle comes with a sticker sheet for those who like to put Sonic on the Wii.

The Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games bundle will be available in Europe beginning November 18.
