With more and more people sourcing their entertainment needs online, media devices that offer such features becomes more and more popular. But it seems that such devices are designed to be portable and offer users some limited viewing space because of the smaller screens. WD TV Live tries to extend the online entertainment experience further by allowing users to enjoy content being streamed through their HD televisions.

The WD TV Live is the newest media player from Western Digital that will allow users to stream photos, audio files and movies to be enjoyed in large screen TV’s. It can connect to a home network via an Ethernet port or WiFi to bring online content into your HDTV. This media player supports 1080p HD resolution and also comes with two USB ports to allow streaming content stored on external flash drives or digital cameras.

The WD TV Live not only plays your digital content but also can be used to surf online to look for digital media to enjoy on your television. Online content from sites such as Netflix, Hulu Plus and Blockbuster can be streamed using the WD TV Live by subscribers to these services. Users can also source content from YouTube, Dailymotion and Facebook as well as other free media content sites. The WD TV Live is available at Western Digital for US$100.
