Technology seems to change one’s way of life through the many devices now available today. Well, technology may also someday help change the way we wear garments. There are now various garment concepts that make clothes not only a means to cover the body but also given some added function as well. One of those interesting concepts are being offered through this interesting RainCatch Eco-Friendly Garment.

The RainCatch Eco-Friendly Garment Concept is the product of the students from the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design or CIID. This garment concept comes in the form of a jacket or coat that can effectively protect one from the rain. But more than that, the RainCatch garment also functions as a water gatherer, with the collar of the coat able to collect rain water.

The RainCatch also comes with its own water purification and storage system, that cleans the water being collected and stored ergonomically around the waist area of the coat to reduce weight strain for the wearer. A water outlet in the form of a straw is affixed somewhere in the neck area of the coat to allow wearers to conveniently drink from the stored water when needed. Quite an interesting garment to have, the RainCatch Concept surely gives an interesting take on how garments in the future may be like, no matter how outrageous it may seem today.
