We have already reported that PlayStation Vita wll be launched in Japan before the holidays, which is now confirmed to be on December 17. In line of this announcement, Sony has also stated that 26 new games will also be launched together with the PS Vita on the 17th, with a total of 100 games to be released.

Launch game titles include Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Power Smash 4, Fish On, Project N.O.E.L.S., and many others whose names can be seen in the photo Engadget has snapped. Click on it for a larger view.

Another batch of games will be rolled out months after that, including Metal Gear Solid HD Edition, Rayman Origins, and FIFA among others. Sony also announces that as many a 600 PlayStation Portable titles will be available for download through the PlayStation Network, especially since the PS Vita will not accommodate your old UMDs. But that is not the end of those old-school PSP disks, as Sony says they are looking for ways to bring these old games to the PS Vita.
