Japan seems to be getting really interested about Android, but prefer to buy smartphones that are especially catered to them. Just recently, Japanese mobile carrier eMobile has unveiled its Smart Bar that adopts the traditional candy bar form factor, but it actually runs on Android gingerbread. The device, which was manufactured by Huawei, comes with a 3-inch WVGA LCD touch screen, 512MB RAM and ROM, a 5-megapixel camera, microSDHC slot, Bluetooth, a WiFi capability that can tether up to five devices, IrDA SIR infrared, GPS, and W-CDMA/ GSM support. The Smart Bar is slim at 51mm and light at 114 grams, just like the women this phone is trying to cater.

eMobile plans on making its Smart Bar available in Japan beginning September 22, with an expected price of US$390.
