In the age of smartphones and 4G-speed Internet access, some people still rely on endangered technology like the fax machine, which was given a revival by Panasonic by introducing a “world’s first” stylus-compatible fax/phone combo. Apart from sending documents to another machine, it also allows users to write messages directly on its 4.9-inch touchscreen and fax them at a push of a button.

The whole machine can actually be controlled just by using the touchscreen. It also lets users to add notes on the faxes they received and sent and store them on SD/ SDHC cards. Notes can also be added during a phone call. Plus, this machine can record phone conversations and avoid unwanted calls.

The Panasonic KX-PW821 digital fax/phone combo will be available in Japan beginning August 8, costing about US$119. Prospective buyers can choose between black or white and can even go for a two-phone package for an added value.
