Google Celebrates 30 Years of Pac-Man

Posted on May 22, 2010

You probably know Google Doodles by now, those creative reinterpretations of the Google logo in celebration of significant events around the world. On this day, the search engine celebrates the 30th anniversary of Pac-Man not just by creating a customized Doodle, but by providing a mini-arcade version of the classic video game using the Google logo as a maze.

To play, simply click the “Insert Coin” button and you can play God-knows-how-many-levels of Pac-Man (note that the original game has no ending, but it has bug on Level 256 that destroys the game completely).

But before you say, “Will it even work on the iPad,” the answer is yes because the game is Javascript-based instead of Flash-based. Users of the tablet computer simply slide their fingers according to the direction they want Pac-Man turn to.
