Pentax Optio W80 Digital Camera

If there is some sort of a race going on that we have not heard of, Pentax appears to be winning when it comes to creating the toughest point-and-shoot camera.  The Pentax Optio W80 can be brought anywhere and we mean anywhere, whether you are taking a picture while submerged up to 5 meters underwater, on a hot sandy desert, while riding a turbulent plane ride, or on a bad day in Moscow at -10°C.

But those rough and tough features are just the scratch of the surface, as this digital camera can capture photos up to 12 megapixels, with a 5x zoom lens that offers a focal range between 28 and 140mm.  It can also create videos in HD settings, with 1280 x 720 resolution at 30 frames per second.

There are some catches, though.  A review on the Photography Blog claims that while the anti-shake system simply slows the camera down, the image quality is strained by excessive noise even at the lowest ISO.  Nevertheless, the Pentax Optio W80 rakes high points in features and ease-of-use.

The Pentax Optio W80 is available in online retail outlets for as low as US$299.95.  You can choose between red, blue, yellow, and gray.
