Garmin Edge 500 cycling GPS

Garmin has come a long way when it comes to providing GPS devices geared towards cyclists.  From their earlier, bulkier models, the latest Garmin Edge 500 cycling GPS sure looks like a huge improvement.

Aside from providing you with precise location (with no calibration needed) wherever you are in the world, the lightweight Garmin Edge 500 also intends to track your cycling progress, providing cyclists with important data such as speed, distance, time, calories burned, as well as climb and descent information, which is further enhanced with the help of a built-in barometric altimeter.  Users can also sync this device to various third-party devices that uses the ANT+ technology and on a Garmin heart rate monitor to keep track on their vital signs.

The Garmin Edge 500 cycling GPS is available on its own for US$249.99, while a bundle with a heart rate monitor and speed sensor is available for a suggested retail price of US$349.99.
