HP Netbook

A posting on DigiTimes claims that HP has contracted two electronic companies in Taiwan to produce its new netbooks and ultraportables that will be released in the coming months.  According to Max Wang and Joseph Tsai, HP contracted Quanta to start the production of wheat seems to be an all-new 11.6-inch netbook in August and another new 10.1-inch model before the end of the year, which some sources speculate as CULV ultralights instead of the standard netbook.  Meanwhile, HP has also contracted Inventec to build a revised version of the current 10.1-inch netbook at the end of September.

The post also says that Quanta will also produce HP’s new 15.6- and 17.3-inch laptops, while Compal would be producing the computer giant’s new 13.3- and 14-inch enterprise notebooks.

We have yet to hear from representatives of HP regarding this report.
