Using gadgets that run on renewable energy seems to be a cool thing to do nowadays. And for this reason, many manufacturers try to develop and add so called "green" gadgets as part of their product lineup in order to attract consumers belonging in this important market segment. Such companies include popular furniture maker IKEA.

IKEA has been known as a popular maker of affordable home furniture and fixtures. They have their environment friendly mindset working by coming up with such products like the IKEA Sunnan polar powered work lamp. What makes this lamp quite unique is that it is being powered by solar cells that transform sunlight into electricity. There’s no electrical power connection necessary. All the user needs to do is to charge up the solar cells under the sun for 9 to 12 hours.

Fully charged, the work lamp can last for up to 4 hours. It makes use of LED technology to provide lighting while consuming lesser power. It’s quite a good lamp to have since it takes advantage of renewable solar energy to power it up. This would lead to considerably lower energy bills, not to mention that using this lamp would also be helping the environment by using earth-friendly solar energy. This lamp is available at IKEA for US$20.
