Sony Introduces Bluetooth Ready Digital Photo Frame

Just when we thought we heard the last of digital frames, Sony comes up with not one but four new ones.

Sony’s latest additions to their digital photo frame line are said to have "super clear LCD" and is also equipped with TruBlack technology. In fact, Sony’s new digital frames are so clear the contrast is "15 times sharper and 13 times brighter" than the previous digital photo frame models.

DPF-X1000 and DPF-V1000 frames features

The DPF-X1000 and DPF-V1000 frames are equipped with an alarm clock function and a number of slide-show properties. Both frames also have the auto-dimmer feature which automatically adjust the screen’s brightness depending on the lighting. Another added feature is the auto orientation sensor. This means they automatically change the direction of your pictures, vertically or horizontally. Both also automatically adjust the white balance on the digital photos.

The DPF-X1000 has the 2GB storage while DPF-V1000 can store up to 1GB worth of pictures. You can even organize your photos according to date, folder, marked photos or photo orientation.

Finally, if you really wish to see your picture as big as possible and in HD, use the frames’ HDMI cable to a Sony Bravia HDTV or other compatible HDTV sets.

The DPF-X1000 and DPF-V1000 digital photo frames are 10-inch frames.

DPF-D92 and DPF-D82 frame features

Both the DPF-D92 and DPF-D82 feature VGA LCD screen with a 15:9 aspect ratio. They have the two high-end frames’ alarm clock, calendar and search function features. Both the DPF-D92 and DPF-D82 have 1GB storage.

Bluetooth ready

The coolest feature of Sony’s four new digital frames is its Bluetooth "readiness". This means that you can upload pictures practically anywhere. If you have a cellphone, you can upload directly into the digital frames simply by using the Bluetooth adapter.

External memory

All four new digital frames support the following file formats: JPEG, BMP, TIFF and RAW (SRF, SR2, ARW).

Each one also supports a number of flash memory cards such as Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick PRO Duo, SD Memory Card, MMC, SDHC, Microdrive, xD-Picture Card and Compact Flash Card.

The DPF-X1000 and DPF-V1000 digital photo frames will available by March 2009 for $300 and $250 respectively. Pricing for the DPF-D92 and DPF-D82 frames will be announced later this year.
